چکیده

In this paper, we consider low-PMEPR (Peak-to-Mean Envelope Power Ratio) MC-CDMA (Multicarrier Coded Division Multiple Access) schemes. We develop frequencydomain turbo equalizers combined with an iterative estimation and cancellation of nonlinear distortion effects. Our receivers have relatively low complexity, since they allow FFT-based (Fast Fourier Transform) implementations. The proposed turbo receivers allow significant performance improvements at low and moderate SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio), even when a low-PMEPR MC-CDMA transmission is intended.1

The 17th Annual IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC’06) JOINT MULTIUSER DETECTION AND CANCELATION OF NONLINEAR DISTORTION EFFECTS FOR THE UPLINK OF MC-CDMA SYSTEMS

In this paper we consider the uplink transmission in MCCDMA systems (MultiCarrier Coded Division Multiple Access). To reduce the envelope fluctuations of the transmitted signals, the MC-CDMA signal associated to each MT (Mobile Terminal) is submitted to a clipping device, followed by a frequency-domain filtering operation. We define an iterative receiver that jointly performs the MUD (MultiUser ...

Uplink BER Performance Comparison of Single-carrier Multi-access and Multi-carrier Multi-access

Abstract The downlink bit error rate (BER) performances of DSand MC-CDMA in a frequency-selective fading channel can be significantly improved by the use of frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion. However, the uplink BER performance degrades due to strong multi-user interference (MUI) since different users’ signals go through different channels a...

Throughput Comparison of Turbo-Coded HARQ in OFDM, MC-CDMA and DS-CDMA with Frequency-Domain Equalization

OFDM, MC-CDMA and DS-CDMA are being researched vigorously as the prospective signaling technique for the next generation mobile communications systems, which will be characterized by the broadband packet technology. With packet transmissions, hybrid ARQ (HARQ) will be inevitable for error control. HARQ with rate compatible punctured turbo (RCPT) codes is one of the promising techniques. Data ra...

Analysis of Non-linear Distortions in Mc-cdma Systems

Multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) is a powerful modulation technique that is being considered in many emerging broadband communication systems. It exploits the advantages of spread spectrum and the advantages of multi-carrier systems, particularly orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique. However, since it uses OFDM, the MC-CDMA signals are a superposition...

A Time Division Duplex CDMA System Using Asymmetric Modulation Scheme in Duplex Channel

Multi-carrier (MC) signal has a large peak to mean envelope power ratio, so that the MC signal suffers from a high level of inter-modulation distortion due to the nonlinearity of the power amplifier stage. For portable terminals, it is undesirable to use linear amplifiers because high power efficiency is needed. To solve this problem, we propose a time division duplex (TDD)–code division multip...
